... with the Boker Olivewood shavette

Razor: Boker Olivewood shavette / RazoRock Hawk (V2) SE
Blade: Miraki Platinum Coated
Cream: The Bluebeards Revenge
Brush: The Guv'nor Pure Badger
Aftershave: Superdrug Sierran Breeze
The Shave:
The second of my combined shavette-and-safety-razor shaves.
I really like the Boker. It's lighter than what I would normally go for but it's given me consistently good shaves so maybe the lightness is a contributing factor. For the final two passes I opted for the Hawk. But I nearly went for my Merkur 34c HD, so it's clearly calling for me from the depths of the bathroom cupboard.
Now – aftershave lotion. I never usually use it. The reason being that I tend to think of it in terms of people wearing too much.* But it's been on my mind to try some, so I went for this: Sierran Breeze from Superdrug at £2.49 a bottle. I thought at that price it would be the shaving equivalent of paint stripper, but no. I used it very sparingly and it gave me a refreshing tingle but didn't overpower the house with the scent which lives up to his name. Or rather, it has a pleasant, subtle scent. When I sniffed it in the shop beforehand I certainly didn't think, Hang on - that's not Sierran Breeze. It's what I imagine a Sierran Breeze would smell like, if it had a scent.** Anyway - I've also got some Proraso aftershave (a little bit more than £2.49) to try. But I'm being very cautious about my aftershave experiments.
* I don't want to be that person who reeks of aftershave and causes other people's eyes to water.
** God Almighty. I do go on, don't I?
