... with the Fatip Piccolo

The Pre-shave: Proraso red
The Razor: Fatip Piccolo
The Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
The Soap: L'Occitane Cade Juniperus Oxycedrus
The Brush: The Guv'nor Pure Badger
The Aftershave: Proraso
The Shave:
I'm a big fan of the Proraso green pre-shave cream, so trying the red wasn't exactly a difficult choice. It has a different scent, of course* but prepares your face and the stubble on it just as well as its green brother.
This time round I used L'Occitane Cade Juniperus Oxycedrus shaving cream on top of the pre-shave cream. The L'Occitane is outrageously good and provides a thick, creamy lather with just a Malteser-sized dollop in the bowl and minimal lathering effort. Add the Fatip Piccolo open-comb razor paired with a Feather Hi-stainless blade into the mix and you're treated to a first class shave. Two full passes and a touch-up half pass around the difficult neck area** and I went out for the evening a happy man. Although I did cause a bit of a stir in the restaurant when I forced complete strangers to stick their noses against my face*** and smell the subtle aroma of the Proraso aftershave lotion that I finished off with. The aftershave – used very sparingly – also gave me that very satisfying, temporary sting that makes you happy to be alive.
Absolutely incredible.

** Well, it's my difficult area, anyway. It's taken me ages to finally get to grips with exactly which way the hair grows. The trouble is, because I can't bear leaving stubble for longer than a day I've never been able to map the grain of my neck, which probably would have saved me a lot of trouble. But hey-ho. Whatever that means.
*** I didn't really do this. I'm not insane. But I wanted to.
