Focus World Ring-Handled Shavette

This unusual shavette looks like a cross between something that's fallen off a Victorian time machine* and a knuckle duster (or brass knuckles as they're also commonly known). I haven't changed my mind about that either. The Focus World Ring-Handle Shavette is fantastic to look at, pleasingly weighty** and shaves well. It's also surprisingly cheap. I got mine for under £10. Considering it shaves just as well as some of the other, pricier shavettes in my collection I think that's a bargain. And I like the curved, serrated edge next to the blade where my thumb can rest as I shave. In some ways, the ring handle - through which you put your index and middle finger - makes it easier to control than a standard handle. Other people*** will probably disagree.

* I say this because of the cover of an edition of HG Wells' The Time Machine that I used to own, which showed the time traveller sitting in front of a wonderfully-imagined, clockwork-looking time machine, made of brass fittings, levers and cogs, getting mugged by some Morlocks. Fantastic.

** Which seems to be a requirement of mine in a razor. The heavier the better. Although not in the case of, say, the Boker shavette which is extremely light and shaves perfectly well.

*** Or 'fools', as I like to call them.
