I should point you in the direction of my previous entry in The Shave Cave Journals regarding the Parker 87r TTO razor. There I discussed the allure of the handle as the reason for buying it. The same can be said for this piece of awesome* shaving hardware, the stunning Parker 94r. I mean, come on. Who in their right mind would look at this amazing little razor and not want to buy it?**

But it's not just the handle that delivers. Which is just as well, because as any sane person knows, you don't pick up a razor like this and rub your face, chin and neck with the handle, do you? I mean, you could, obviously, but I wouldn't recommend it. You'd end up with appallingly bad skin irritation for starters on account of the magnificent knurling. Look at the photo. No, look properly. It's a work of art and, practically speaking, allows for a firm grip as you wage war against your stubble, even with shaving cream-laden fingers. I've tried both Astra and Feather blades in the 94r and its performance is solid with either during a classic, three-pass shave. Stubble just falls away as you allow the weight of the razor to do its job and that's all any of us could ask for, really.

Don't be fooled by its size, either. This is one highly-efficient little razor for both beginners and old men of the sea and is easily up there in my Top 5 DE razors, along with the Merkur 34c HD, the Merkur Progress adjustable, the RazoRock SLOC and The Fatip Grande. Buy one.***

* In the true sense of the word, meaning inspiring awe, as opposed to the modern-day use of the word, meaning 'really, really good'.

** Apart from wet-shaving freaks like myself, that is.

*** Right now.
