... with the Parker 87r TTO

The Pre-shave: Proraso Refreshing
The Razor: Parker 87r TTO (twist to open)
The Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
The Cream: Proraso
The Brush: The Guv'nor Pure Badger Hair
The Balm: The Bluebeards Revenge
The Shave:
I suppose it makes sense that the Proraso Refreshing pre-shave cream should work so well in conjunction with its cousin, the Proraso Refreshing shaving cream. The combination of both on the face at the same time (I apply the shaving cream directly on top of the pre-shave cream, as I assume everyone else who uses pre-shave products does) produces the effect of having just been slapped around the face with a velvet glove soaked in eucalyptus oil and menthol, which also makes sense as the pre-shave cream and the shaving cream contain both. It certainly wakes you up, although I performed this shave at 4 o'clock in the afternoon so I'd been awake for hours by then. I digress.
The brand new Feather blade inside the Parker 87r TTO razor cut effortlessly through the lather produced by the Proraso shavng cream as well as my stubble and, after two passes and a lot of jiggery-pokery involving my neck area, the task was complete.*

I really can't recommend The Bluebeards Revenge post-shave balm enough. Not only does it cool and soothe effectively, it also has a striking pot lid, which I've photographed in moody black and white. Marvellous.
* I've mentioned this previously. I have to approach my neck area from different angles, planning a few different lines of attack. My neck has its own mini shave routine. The little minx.
