... with post-haircut live action
Dancer. Poet, Athlete. Rapper. Chef. Git. My son, Excalibur, is all of these things. He's also a bloody fool, because every week he submits himself* to the mercy of my Wahl Senior cordless clippers and Andis Slimline Pro Li detailers, just so I can practice my barbering skills. Skills, I might add, that I have gained over a very short career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like him*. Skills that I'll be enhancing come September (COVID-19 allowing) when I begin my barber training**.

Let's hear it for Excalibur. Here he is on the phone, having a giggle with his mates, just as I'm about to put in the finishing touches to his hairline. Say what you want about Excalibur, but you can't ever accuse him of not knowing how to have a laugh. Look at him. He's in hysterics.
But look. You don't want to hear about my son's promising career as a laugh-a-minute children's entertainer. You want, instead, to see some actual footage of his haircut, taken after I'd divested him not only of his hair but of the protective barber's cloak that I had secured around his shoulders, like Alfred adjusting Batman's cape. So, here it is. Behold ... Excalibur. Behold ... the finished haircut (note the banter between us: the comedic timing, the improvisational genius. It's like watching Laurel and Hardy).
Join me and Excalibur again in Dave's Fades #3 for another exciting trip around the back and sides of his head.
* Actually, as I stated in Dave's Fades #1, Excalibur gives himself quite willingly to my clippers and for that I'm very grateful.
** Not for the first time here at DAVESHAVES, I'm stealing and paraphrasing a line from Liam Neeson's Taken for comic effect. I'm terribly clever.
